STRENGTHENING IMPACT IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: USM AND YAYASAN RYTHM ENGAGE IN CO-LEARNING ON MONITORING, EVALUATION AND GOVERNANCE

A knowledge exchange session was held today between the Pejabat Jaringan Masyarakat, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Yayasan Rythm, focusing on monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment within community project management and governance frameworks.

The session provided a co-learning platform where both parties shared their respective approaches to strengthening community development delivery. Pejabat Jaringan Masyarakat highlighted the COMPASSION framework as a structured instrument to enhance governance, improve accountability, and support systematic implementation of community engagement programmes.

On the other hand, Yayasan Rythm shared its more flexible and adaptive approach, where progress is continuously monitored and achievements are acknowledged throughout the development process. This approach emphasizes responsiveness to community needs and the importance of recognizing incremental impact.

Both sides agreed that effective community development requires a balanced integration of structured governance systems and adaptive implementation practices. The discussion reinforced the shared understanding that community development is a long-term journey that requires sustained collaboration, reflection, and continuous improvement.

The session concluded with mutual interest in strengthening future collaboration and advancing impactful, community-centred initiatives through knowledge exchange and shared practice.
